Found another photo I snapped of a pastel drawing done around the same time as "Don Quixote".... "John McClaren" was an early Golden Gate Park landscape architect in charge of the entire park, he hated all the bronze statues there, especially the large pedestals they were perched on. When he passed on, a bronze likeness was made of him with feet planted firmly in the ground surrounded by ancient fern and near the entrance to the rhododendron dell.
