Found another photo I snapped of a pastel drawing done around the same time as "Don Quixote".... "John McClaren" was an early Golden Gate Park landscape architect in charge of the entire park, he hated all the bronze statues there, especially the large pedestals they were perched on. When he passed on, a bronze likeness was made of him with feet planted firmly in the ground surrounded by ancient fern and near the entrance to the rhododendron dell.

I love these pastel works of yours. The colors in the bronze figure are really nice and capture the look of bronze well. This one looks like its new, pretty shiny. I really like the detail of the face, a lot of color and the look of folds are captured well. And once again the background was not half-assed. Its just as good as the figure with detail in the fern leaves and a terrific sense of movement in the sky area. Terrific work.
