I am working on a small website for just my painted works, going through photos of past projects, trying to figure out what to post. I thought I would share this one from my archives, a commission request for a Dutch still life interpretation after "Jan van Kessel" . Approx. size 4ft. high, acrylic on canvas.

2004 Update: Wow,...Cool surprise. thanks DA,... Had to mention that there really are checkered tulips and you can still buy the bulbs. They are called Fritillaria and are in the tulip family. Google it, and find some interesting info. on the flower. The Dutch were fascinated by them in the 16th century. I believed they used the bulbs as money.
